There is a growing body of evidence which suggests that Adverse Childhood Experiences (traumatic experiences which occur before the age of 18; typically ranging from verbal, mental and physical abuse, to being exposed to alcoholism, drug use and domestic violence at home) are a strong predictor of poor health and social outcomes in adults.
