Next Steps – Community of Practice
Beyond Social Value - Procurement and Commissioning Community of Practice
Building on an existing collaboration between councils, academics, legal experts and VCSEs sponsored by the Cooperative Councils Innovation Network (see CCIN Social Value Toolkit), we’re looking to develop and mainstream tools and governance models that support public spending and decision making to drive genuine social, environmental, and community impact. We’ll bring together practitioners, policymakers, service designers, legal experts, and changemakers to reimagine procurement as a process of co-design, collaboration, and long-term value creation.
Too often, rigid systems and outdated assumptions are holding back innovation. This is a space to challenge those norms and forefront commissioning approaches that embed the principles of Human Learning Systems, Community Wealth Building, and mission-led government into how councils invest in and partner with other organisations.
