Revisit our extensive archive of Members' Updates

Thank you to those members who have submitted Case Studies for the 2025 printed pack. With the help of our friends at Cooperative News, we'll be getting these designed, printed and ready to showcase at the LGA Conference in July. In total, we have uploaded 580 case studies to our website, illustrating some of the ways cooperative councils are working with local people to build strong and resilient neighbourhoods.
This edition of Update features case studies from High Peak Borough Council and their 10-year strategy ‘Move More High Peak’, Rochdale Borough Council showcases how it is embedding cooperative and community wealthbuilding into the development of its cultural infrastructure, and Social adVentures highlights its work with GMCA to boost local residential placements.
Power to Change and Mutual Ventures are both running FREE online webinars on Thursday, 8th May and there’s details on how to register below. Simon Grove-White previews the CCIN’s social value toolkit, and Social Value Engine is offering CCIN members the opportunity to receive a FREE Social Value report for one of their community projects. We have an excellent animated video, flip book and learning resource from Unlimited Potential on their Economies for Healthier Lives project in Salford. We also have news from Cooperatives UK on their latest report, which calls on the government to remove the financial barriers that prevent co-ops and mutuals from reaching their potential.
Finally, good luck to everyone standing for election on May 1st; I wish you well.
I hope that you enjoy this edition of Update.
Best wishes
Jim
