Members’ Update March 2024

  • 5th Mar 2024

A warm cooperative welcome to this edition of Update I want to begin with a huge thank you to everyone who submitted a Bid for Policy Lab or Prototype funding. The Executive Oversight Committee and the Values & Principles Board met on 20th February and agreed to support all the Bids. Over the coming weeks, we will be agreeing on their final scope and content. In the meantime, you can read the submissions here. There are more details in this newsletter about how you can still get involved.

Case Studies for the 2024 edition of the printed Case Studies pack are coming in slowly.  We have featured several in this edition: Oxygen Finance, Lewisham Council, Seaton Valley Community Council, South Tyneside Council, and Two Generations Homeshare.  Please submit your Case Study by 6th March.

We have an update on how we’re progressing with our Strategic Objectives and Key Results for 2024-6 in this issue, along with details on the programme for the Study Visit to Emilia-Romagna this month.  We’d like to thank Anthony Collins LLP for sharing their Briefing notes on the Review of UK Cooperative Law.

Congratulations to everyone who has been shortlisted for this year’s LGC Awards – I’m particularly proud to see Cheshire West & Chester feature several times, and l look forward to seeing some of you at the Awards Ceremony later in the year.

Finally a thank you to Cllrs Sue Woodward, Sital Punja, Chris Penberthy and Mayor Woodley who joined me at the Labour Local Government Conference in Warwick last month, where we held a very successful breakout session.  If you would like to speak at a CCIN workshop in the future, please do let us know.

I hope you enjoy this edition of Update.

Best wishes

Louise
