Members Update – June 2025

  • 29th May 2025

This month, we welcome Chorley Council to the Network and hear from their Leader Cllr Alistair Bradley. I'm delighted to report that the Case Studies Pack will be going to the printers this month. Thank you to everyone involved. We now have over 590 Case Studies on our website. Let’s see if can increase that to 600 before the LGA Conference!

This edition of Update features a report back from our time at UKREiiF last month with a post-conference report from Coop News.  We have case studies from Biddulph Town Council and how they’ve increased community trust through Biddulph Works TogetherBirmingham City Council showcases Birmingham’s Future Together, their cross-sector partnership aimed at tackling inequality and creating a shared vision.  Stevenage Borough Council shares their Building a Better Bedwell, a community safety project addressing antisocial behaviour, crime, and social isolation in Bedwell’s high-rise blocks.

We feature an update from Co-operatives UK on the forthcoming Co-op Congress at Rochdale Town Hall on 4 and 5 July during this International Year of Cooperatives.  National and international speakers will attend, and we look forward to seeing you there. The International Cooperative Alliance, which is celebrating its 130th year this year, also reveals the theme for Co-op Day on Saturday, 5 July.

We are also delighted to support a Manchester City Council Town Hall session on 1st July. This will introduce cooperative law to legal professionals in public service, private practice, and the cooperative sector and highlight international successes and insights.  In other news, Power to Change, PSTA, and Stir to Action have updates on their latest programmes and events.

Finally, we feature a reminder of the CCIN Design Guidelines, including the new CCIN logo.

I hope that you enjoy this edition of Update.

Best wishes
