Members’ Update December 2023

  • 1st Dec 2023

As we come to the end of the year, I want to thank all those who have contributed to our continued growth with commitment, energy and passion for our values. Our Policy work drives innovation across the public sector, and I'm immensely proud of what continues to be achieved as our members collaborate to build a fairer and more cooperative world.

Cllr Louise Gittins
Councillor Louise Gittins

Chair of CCIN
Leader of Cheshire West and West Council

You’ll have seen from recent mailings that applications are now open for CCIN funding in 2024.

The Executive Oversight Committee has allocated £60,000 to fund Policy Labs and £15,000 for Policy Prototypes in 2024.  Members can lead a maximum of one project at any time to encourage more councils to get involved.

All funded projects must demonstrate the ‘cooperative difference’ and explicitly show this using our Statement of Values and Principles.  The closing date for Bids is Midnight on Monday, 5 February 2024.  Details can be found here.

In this edition, we’re sharing two fabulous videos – one prepared by Cardiff Council, who are celebrating becoming the UK’s first UNICEF Child-Friendly City, and the second is from Hull City Council about their project ‘Hull Young Voices Influencing Care’ which was mentioned at our Annual Conference by Cllr Linda Tock.

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year and hope you enjoy this Update.

Best wishes

Louise
