Event Summary

About the event

The third in E3M’s series of free webinars disseminating ideas and practical learning linked to the Procurement to Partnership Toolkit, this time the focus is on social value.

Chaired by Jonathan Bland, MD of CCIN Affiliate member Social Business International Ltd., the discussion will be framed by leading Social Enterprise and Charities lawyer, Stone King’s Julian Blake, before presentations on real social value in action.

Rebekah Sutcliffe, Strategic Director of Communities and Reform at Oldham Council, will share how Oldham has used social value imperatives in the commissioning of services and to support community wealth building. This has included their approach to leisure services, a ground-breaking innovation partnership for social prescribing and the development of Northern Roots, which will be the UK’s largest urban farm and agripark.

London and South East Education Group’s Chief Transformation Officer, Louise Wolsey, and Group Director Strategic Growth and Partnerships, Andrew Cox, will provide a presentation on how, as a £70m education group in London, they have maximised their impact as an anchor institution and created sustainable change through social value. This includes changing the culture around social value, understanding their diagnostics for local spend, reviewing local employment trends and embedding the national TOMs framework.

They will then be joined by Councillor Susan Brown, Leader of Oxford City Council, and Malcolm McClean, Business Development Manager at PossAbilities, to form an expert panel, ready for your questions.
