Policy Labs and Prototypes 2021Policy Lab projects approved
Policy Prototype projects approved
This year we have agreed to allocate £80,500 to fund Policy Labs and Policy Prototypes projects led and delivered by Member Councils. Prototypes are smaller projects delivered in a locality and are eligible for up to £1,500 of funding. Policy Labs are bigger collaborative pieces of work that CCIN members work on together, and are eligible for up to £10,000 of funding.
Members are encouraged to suggest projects where they can work with other members to find co-operative policy solutions to the challenges facing local government.
To encourage more councils to get the opportunity to showcase their ambition this year we limited the number of projects that any one council can lead on, to one project per organisation. We began seeking applications in October 2020 and all members – Councils, Associates and Affiliates – were encouraged to collaborate on bids, this culminated in 68 members either leading or partnering in at least one of the 13 EOIs approved.
Policy Labs are designed for cross Member participation and we recommend engaging a minimum of three other Full CCIN members (Affiliates and Associates should bid alongside Full Council members) to create a working group to support the development of project. Policy Prototypes can be submitted by a Member Council or an Associate Member and could involve partner organisations in the locality. Affiliate Members can also be engaged in the delivery of projects.
