Event Overview Join Open Forum Event’s at The Future of Local Government conference where we will look at how local authorities can adapt and transform to meet the increasing demands of public service delivery during a period of protracted austerity. The City Devolution Bill outlines the plans to hand powers, traditionally held in Whitehall, to cities including housing, transport, planning and policing. George Osborne is keen for England’s big cities to join Manchester in bidding for devolved powers, as long as they agree to be governed by a directly elected mayor. How will these devolved powers influence the way local authorities deliver local services? The Future of Local Government conference will bring together high profile stakeholders within local government to examine the current issues and how these may be overcome through innovative ways of working. Expert speakers will share the latest research and current ways of thinking whilst examples of successful transformational projects will be showcased.
